Exterior Walkway Remodel with Stained Wood Detail and Trim

The Edje Construction crew may not be designers by trade, but we’ve seen and done enough projects to build a formidable arsenal of ideas.  This project started with our customers’ need to remedy a catastrophically failing ceiling above two exterior walkways on either side of their property.  We immediately saw the potential to not just fix the melting, moldy drywall (not a material meant for exteriors), but to take advantage of this unique space and its construction.  A covered and lit exterior walkway; what a fantastic asset! It didn’t take much to convince the homeowner that we should do more.

Using cost effective, but durable and hand-picked plywood, simple 1″X4″ boards, a light stain and a weatherproof coating, something amazing came together.  How can such simple elements result in the luxurious space you see in these pictures?  It takes meticulous cutting and installation and methodical stain application.  The lack of gaps, bends, and planned reduction of nail holes result in the overall magic you see here.  It’s truly the little things that lead to big gains for property owners like this family.  Creative work done right, with as little cost to you as possible, is just one of our specialities.
