Sunroom Revamped – Skylights and Slatted Ceiling

When Edje showed up on the scene our job seemed simple.  Pour concrete posts to add knewls and banisters around the front porch, fix a little water damage around two skylights in the back sunroom and patch a hole in the soffit. It didn’t take a lot of investigating to discover this was not the whole story.  The angle of mis-hung gutters and a facia board that was hung too low created a perfect storm.  It turned out water was pouring into the walls, rotting everything, for years! The Edje crew regrouped, cleared our schedule (this was a...

Exterior Painting and Custom Shutters

Our customers are not just dollar signs, they’re some of our favorite people. Tony and Jane are no exception, and judging by the number of call-backs, the feeling is mutual. After we built their beautiful, natural cedar carport (an extensive $15,000 project with all bells and whistles done a couple of years prior), the rest of the house exterior screamed for an update.  After the siding was replaced (another great job by the Siding Depot), we went to work prepping and painting.  We were determined to make sure that the final result...

Exterior Walkway Remodel with Stained Wood Detail and Trim

The Edje Construction crew may not be designers by trade, but we’ve seen and done enough projects to build a formidable arsenal of ideas.  This project started with our customers’ need to remedy a catastrophically failing ceiling above two exterior walkways on either side of their property.  We immediately saw the potential to not just fix the melting, moldy drywall (not a material meant for exteriors), but to take advantage of this unique space and its construction.  A covered and lit exterior walkway; what a fantastic asset! It...

Basement Bathroom Enhanced with New Everything (and heated floors)

This basement bathroom with peeling wallpaper, a drop ceiling and a cold floor set on concrete, wasn’t exactly the most desirable room in the house.  It would’ve been easy to close the door and pretend it didn’t exist, but our clients, familiar with our work from an upstairs bathroom, decided to call Edje Construction. We started with a full demo, including tearing tile off of the concrete walls that encase the basement (no easy task) and ripping out the drop ceiling tracks to begin the framework for an actual drywall...

Classic to Modern Bathroom / Laundry Room Remodel

In it’s original state this bathroom was very outdated and, as the most used bathroom in the house, was a constant reminder of the home’s age. After enlisting the help of Edje construction and a cabinet maker for custom vanity and shelving, this room was barely recognizable.  The originally cramped bathroom space with tub, vanity and toilet, was relocated from the back of the room, and replaced with a laundry section, which was originally at the front.  The original layout forced the homeowners to walk through the least used...

Master Bathroom: From Unused to Unmissable

Master Bathroom: From Unused to Unmissable

Tiffany and Sean of Sandy Springs, hadn’t used their master bathroom in years.  It was in terrible shape and, was frankly, hard to look at. The Edje Construction team began by ripping out the old down to the studs.  We then updated everything from the wall layout to the plumbing and light layout.  Over that we installed brand new drywall and hardie board.  A beautiful marble tile floor, and clean shower subway tile, with mosaic for shower niche and floor, were laid with expert precision.  All large and small installations, except for...

Constructing and Painting Wainscotting

For this Sandy Plains project many of our team’s skills came into play. Lots of beautiful trim and moulding pieces were intricately cut and joined together to create sophisticated and classic wainscotting to frame this (previously plain and unadorned) townhouse staircase.  The original baseboard, risers, handrails and pickets were painstakingly renovated to remove any imperfections and match the beautiful new installations. A beautiful chandelier was hung to illuminate and accent the upgrade. While these projects were taking shape, the...

Luxurious Master Bathroom with All the Fixins

Swiveling can lights, giant tile, handy niches, and a heated floor were painstakingly installed in what was once an outdated master bathroom.  A large, expensive bathroom doesn’t always make for efficiency, comfort and aesthetic, as the Joseph family was realizing, after years of living in their home and putting up with what they had.  They wanted all the stops pulled out, and we went there. First, our experienced electrician built a safe and efficient spiderweb of wiring for heated floors, lights, dimmers, and backlit, self-defogging...
