Constructing and Painting Wainscotting

For this Sandy Plains project many of our team’s skills came into play.

Lots of beautiful trim and moulding pieces were intricately cut and joined together to create sophisticated and classic wainscotting to frame this (previously plain and unadorned) townhouse staircase.  The original baseboard, risers, handrails and pickets were painstakingly renovated to remove any imperfections and match the beautiful new installations.

A beautiful chandelier was hung to illuminate and accent the upgrade.

While these projects were taking shape, the dining room ceiling was de-stippled and mudded completely flat to reinforce the new, sophisticated updates to the rest of the home.

All the new trim was painted with several smooth coats of oil paint.  Oil is more work that latex paint, but the rewards are immediately visible, and long-lasting.

In the end, we left another happy couple in awe.  Their only problem now is figuring out if they want to stay and enjoy their upgraded home, or sell it and walk away with the profit.
